CREATIVITY IN PHOTOGRAPHY

Creativity in commercial photography is a fundamental element for a successful project. True creativity still exists in digital photography and dynamic use of lighting, attention to detail and a clear vision of our clients requirements are all key aspects in any area of commercial photography. We work closely with our clients to understand their requirements and build a detailed picture of what they are looking for. It’s important to discuss in detail the intended usage and placement of the imagery. This can include branding, orientation, positioning in artwork and design.
In the modern age of photography and advertising, we find our clients tend to have tight deadlines and generally find themselves under pressure. Having a photographer you can trust to deliver above your expectations, quickly, efficiently and on deadline is critical. We have been fortunate to work closely with some high profile clients and have gained the experience to be able to deal with all situations thrown at us.

TECHNIQUES
The starting point is to understand the design and overall purpose of what the subject is. It’s the art of observation, It’s about finding something interesting in everything we shoot, whether a product, a person or a vehicle. It’s our job to turn that observation into an inspiring image that fits with our clients brief.
The use of technical lighting, whether ambient, flash or both, along with creative vision is vital in producing high quality imagery. There is no easy answer to lighting any subject, a car, a golf club or a plate of food. It’s simply how the photographer develops the light around the subject. It’s personal to every photographer and a style they have to develop for themselves. We believe there are no rules, it’s just a simple approach to lighting the subject methodically, building the picture step by step. Consider each light’s placement, the effect each light has on the next and how the image evolves. A bit like a good chef, you should taste the food as you cook it… build the recipe until it’s perfect!
